Scorey Drops Much Anticipated “Guardian Angel”
The track pays tribute to his best friend Zachary “Zuly” Holloway, who was tragically killed by gun violence in May 2020. This is an emotion-packed song and pays tribute to his relationship with Zuly and his personal struggles with his loss. The song was record less than 2 months after Zach’s murder.
“Losing Zuly personally shifted my motivation. He didn’t rap, but that dude was my biggest supporter, I probably wouldn’t have been able to do a lot of the things I did without him. He was right there with me every step of the way. I feel like I had to make it—I have to get our story out there.”

Zuly, being Scorey's biggest supporter and closest friend, appeared in all of Scorey's previously released videos up until his death, and the the first video shot without "Victim" was shot on the day of Zuly's funeral.
Guardian Angel was shot on the one-year anniversary of Zuly's passing during a balloon release at the gravesite and in the hood with the gang. The Video opens with the heartfelt emotions of Zach's mom at the balloon release and goes on to show time spent with Zuly, including the day of Zuly's funeral with Scorey and his friends serving as pallbearers. It continues with Scorey pounding out chilling lyrics, and flashing back to intimate moments of Scorey and Zuly hanging out in the trenches. The video closes with a snippet of the song, Freddy Kreuger, in which you can see Zuly in the video posted up besides Scorey. You can watch Scorey perform Freddy Krueger with Zuly onstage here!
